Using A “Risk Calculator” To Measure Risk
June 18, 2013 No Comments
This free “Risk Calculator“ uses exposure, injury history, and control effectiveness to determine the “Probability”. It then calculates the “Consequences” based upon severity and contingency planning. Finally, the “Probability” and ”Consequences” ratings are combined to produce an overall “Risk Rating”.
This Risk Calculator will quantitatively measure the risk of any task or job. You can use it to:
- compare the relative risks of different jobs
- determine the cost effectiveness of control alternatives
- prioritize how you spend your limited money on safety improvements
