iConstructSafe

Description

“iConstructSafe is a collection of 2-3 minute safety reminder videos for the construction professional’s  use at the job site (no wifi needed).  The app includes a selection of safety videos on power, hand, air, gas and other powered tools.  It includes videos on PPE, preventing falls, ergonomics and more.

These 2 minute videos are designed to remind workers on how to use tools safely, right before they use a tool.  The worker uses a menu to select the tool video and watches safety tips on the tool, on site, at the tool crib.  The app is a collection of engaging short videos that are stored and viewable on an iPhone, iTouch or iPad; no wifi is needed at the site.” 1

  • no registration or sign in required
  • well organized – easy and logical to use without any instruction
  • topics covered include – power tools, hand tools, gas powered, air powered, ergonomics, lifting, fall prevention, ladders, harnesses, and PPE
  • the quality of their original, full-screen, high-definition videos is the best I’ve seen (they look unbelievable on Apple retina displays!)
  • all videos are downloaded so you don’t need an Internet connection to view/show them
  • a special section is just for supervisors

Thumbs Down

  • the safety tip of the day didn’t work for me
  • many of the videos are still under development
