An employers’ occupational safety and health program can get stale without the periodic infusion of new ideas.   One way to learn what’s working at other employers in your area is to participate in your local safety organizations.

There are is one large national safety organization that likely has a local chapter in your area.  The National Safety Council (NSC) is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.  They have a network of local chapters throughout the USA.  Local chapters (e.g. http://www.oksafety.org/ ) offer: safety conferences, on-site training, company safety awards, employment ads,  training materials,  and on-line training.  To find the NSC chapter nearest to you see - http://www.nsc.org/nsc_near_you/FindYourLocalChapter/Pages/find_your_local_chapter.aspx
